The Bio of Nicholas H. Kovacs, OFS
Nicholas H. Kovacs, OFS, was born with a genetic disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. He was born and raised in Canada, and after high school had the great privilege of living many years throughout the Gulf Coast of America. His most favourite city and state, which he resided in, was Pensacola, Florida. Currently he resides in the Canadian Pacific Northwest. Nick got professed into the OFS on November 17th, 2007, in Houston, Texas, and has been very active in each of his local Franciscan fraternities. Besides the great honor of being professed into the OFS, Nick also has the great privilege of being naturalized as an American citizen.
Nick's deep love for Christ and his Catholic faith, has inspired him to devote his life in spreading the Gospel through doing writing projects, designing websites and being an avid blogger. Besides doing his own personal blogging, he also is a blogging contributor to HolyOwnedAndOperated.com.
Nick has been published in Immaculata Magazine, Gilbert Magazine, and has an eBook published on the sacraments which received, an imprimatur from Cardinal DiNardo. Nick also has other books published. He has created two chaplets that have both received imprimaturs, as well. These three imprimaturs come from the bishops in the dioceses he has resided in. One of the chaplets is dedicated to praying for the clergy and the other is to pray for the Franciscan Order.

Nicholas is a big fan of EWTN, and has learned a lot about his Catholic faith, through watching the amazing programs from the television network. He is an EWTN Media Missionary, who has had the amazing privilege to meet many EWTN celebrities, including the saintly, Mother Angelica.
Nick takes the name patronage of St. Nick (a.k.a., Santa Claus) to heart, and always tries to be a defender of the Faith, just like Saint Nicholas was.
EWTN has inspired Nick to learn even more about his Catholic faith, and is constantly upgrading himself with continued education, through top Catholic institutes, such as Catholic Distance University. Nick has always been active in his parishes and proud to be a practicing Catholic. |
Nick has a deep respect and love for the clergy. Nick learned to appreciate his Catholic faith more passionately, thanks to the priests in Pensacola, Florida. There has also been many other priests in Nick's life as well, who have helped him in his spiritual journey to become more on fire for Christ.
Living in Florida greatly shaped Nick's life in many ways. Although he lived all over the Gulf Coast, Nick will always consider himself to be a Floridian. The Cathedral of The Sacred Heart, his former parish, will always hold a special place in his heart. It was in Pensacola where he began his journey into the OFS.
Living in the Lone Star State, was a great experience for Nick. It is in Texas that he completed his candidacy in becoming a Secular Franciscan. Nick is a big fan of history and the American armed forces. He enjoyed visiting many of the historical and military sites, while living in America.
For recreation, Nick enjoys spending time at the beach, and is a big fan of Star Trek.
Whenever there is an occasion in life to dress up, Nick enjoys the "Frank Sinatra" look and is a big fan of the singer.
